This month we are spotlighting Delores C. who works in Kansas City as a DSP. She has been an ADC team member for over 17 years!! We appreciate Delores because she loves the residents and provides excellent personal care. She always pays attention to detail when it comes to their care and documentation. Delores took it upon herself to learn how to do all of the filing and paperwork for her home which is a great undertaking!
Q: What do you enjoy most about working at Austen-Dooley?
A: Getting to know the clients! And, I really respect the care and work that management and Austen and Kelly put into making good homes for them.
Q: What drew you to this profession?
A: When I first applied, I thought I’d be working with kids. I found out it was adults, and at first, I didn’t know if I could do it, but after a couple of weeks, I realized it was my calling. I fell in love with it. I am an advocate for these people and treat them like family.
Q: What’s the best piece of advice you were ever given? Who was it from?
A: My mother always taught me that there was always something good in everybody, and my father always told me, “if you’re gonna do a job, do it right.”
Q: What do you like to do when you’re not at work?
A: Be lazy! Haha
Q: What three words would your friends use to describe you?
A: Caring, outspoken, and loyal.
